For most residents living in the Lowcountry, fall is hands down the best time of the year. The sticky humidity from the summer is long gone, leaving us with the most pleasant weather one could imagine. It’s also that time to put away the swimsuits, flip-flops, and sunscreen, and show off those new fall fashions! From hayrides and pumpkin patches, to oyster roasts fit for all ages, South Carolina is always thriving with a variety of events and activities for all to enjoy.
Here are a few fun ways to enjoy the season during this spectacular time of the year!
•Since Oyster Season begins around-mid September, fall is the perfect time to enjoy some yummy clusters! Throw your own get-together, attend one of the many oyster roasts put on by local restaurants, or visit Hilton Head Oyster Festival November 8, 9 or 10.
•Attend the Bluffton Farmers Market every Thursday from 2-6. Browse around for locally grown produce, flowers, herbs, and much more while enjoying the quaint atmosphere of Historic Old Town Bluffton.
•Visit a Pumpkin Patch, go for a hayride, or tackle both! Take a trip to Dempsey Farms and enjoy a hayride or pick your own pumpkins, gourds, tomatoes, squash, cucumber, acorn squash and more!
•Go for a bike ride! Get outside and enjoy the weather. No more sticking to your seat on those scorching, humid, sunny days! Bike through the miles upon miles of bike paths and beaches Hilton Head Island has to offer.
•The seasons always bring about change, including seasonal brews! What better way to test them all than to attend the Bluffton International & Craft Beer Festival?! With venders from near and far, there is bound to be something to fancy your taste buds!
Everything the lowcountry has to offer during this time of year is fun or exciting for most, but the most importing thing is to just get outside and enjoy the weather and all that South Carolina has to offer!
